General comments/suggestions on lectures:
328. Prof White Rambles alot and seems really unsure of herself.
330. None, I enjoyed the lecture.
331. I know there is a time constraint, but it was hard to keep up sometimes.
332. Very good at explaining the concepts.
333. On certain occasions, we didn't finish the lecture handouts during the lecture time. Sometimes the information that wasn't presented would be very important for doing the homework that night. That is the biggest complaint I have, which isn't a big one (considering the help sessions in the evenings to make up for this). All in all I really enjoyed the lectures
334. Often had too much material to cover and didn't finish.
335. I thought the notes were easy to follow along and made studying for tests easier.
336. sometimes they felt rushed
337. None
338. Spend less time on clicker questions, sometimes they caused us to run over and miss information very important for doing the homework.
339. Lectures were very well planned. Maybe give 45secs. for the clicker questions if possible.
341. The clicker questions were stressful sometimes
342. Sometimes class would end and we would not have finished the examples. A lot of the times we would not even refer back to them. This is frustrating when I come back to that lecture for study materials.
Other than that, precision of speech and clarity is awesome! I enjoy that you make an effort to make sure everyone can hear you and not just those in the front and center.
343. Prof. Schleter made the class fun and engaging
345. Good effectiveness, but maybe need to focus on the later slide than getting stuck on the earlier ones. It will help greatly on confusing little things on the homework.
347. The examples are really good i think, but most of us have not had previous physics classes because our high schools do not offer them. So my suggestion is that there needs to be some sort of way to accommodate them. I don't really know how to go about it but i thought it be good that i mention it.
348. Fast paced sometimes.
349. I would say they could have been more timely.
350. They were always nice!
351. They kept it entertaining
352. I like Prof. Schleter and Dr. Bennett a little more. However, Prof White was better with some aspects.
353. If you would explain more about the units and how to actually approach problems and how to do them it would make doing the homework a bit easier.
354. Just need Professor White to slow down during lectures and make sure she talks to the class and not to the board. I know she knows what she is doing, but sometimes it was hard to hear here.
355. It was often that the plan for lecture was too long for the allotted lecture time.
357. Bennett and Schleter is the dream team!
359. They were longer than 50 minutes and it was obvious White and Schleter did not favor one another.
360. We usually end up running out of time.
361. We rarely finish on time... it would be nice if the material could be more suited to the time frame available.
363. MORE DEMONSTRATIONS!!!
I really enjoyed them and they helped me understand a lot of different concepts.
364. Too early
366. Sometimes we ran out of time, I wonder if the slides could be made shorter or more condensed in some modules so that each lecture is finished on time.
367. Prof white sometimes had a hard time getting the material presented, but she ended up doing a great job. You could tell Schleter had taught this class a few times before.
368. Maybe more interaction. Seems like a lot of talk without much communication professor to student.
369. I feel like a lot of time we go to slow through the easy stuff leaving no time for the hard material.
370. Work more homework help problems.
371. Very good. Only problem is not having time to do the last slide.
373. Pretty good way to get the information across.
374. Give more insight on the concepts. Some lectures felt like it was just doing problems, which were difficult because it felt like the initial concept material was rushed.
375. They always seemed to be a little short on time.
376. Both professors always seem legitimately happy to be teaching, and are always helpful when explaining tougher concepts and answering questions.
378. I wish time was managed a bit better so that we finished on time a bit more but other than that everything was great.
379. Sometimes it is hard to make it when it is all the way in buehler
380. Lectures were sometimes hard to follow because it has so much new material presented in so little time. the pace is too fast
385. Maybe try to finish a lecture on time
386. None
387. I thought the lectures were very useful and well taught.
388. Take more time going over the actual material instead of having clicker questions when time is running out.
390. I honestly prefer when Prof. Schleter would talk about the slides. He was more clear.
391. Sometimes lectures feel rushed and not all the material gets covered before that lectures homework.
392. We didn't finish the material the majority of the time.
395. Usually dont have enough time to cover all the notes, but i do like that theyre posted on the website after.
396. CLASS IS AWESOME!!!! PROF S AND PROF W ARE GREAT!!!! Most Willing to help duo at UTK.
397. try to go a little bit slower
398. n/a
399. less material so we can get through the entire sheet
400. The lectures were great, but sometimes they were rushed.
401. Fun, easy to understand. I wish there was a video archive of each lecture though. It helps to watch problems get solved and it's not always easy to remember from class when you're busy jotting down notes.
402. Did not learn too much from lecture, mainly learned from the homework. Lecture just gave the equations and what the symbols meant.
403. We were always on a little bit of a time crunch. Maybe less clicker questions and a more prompt beginning of class would have eased stress.
404. Better use of time to finish all the material.
405. if there's one thing i have never been able to grasp, it would be the i,j,k coordinate stuff. im very comfortable with the material right now but the i,j,k stuff is a no go for me
406. Moves at a great pace, however, sometimes gets off track.
407. They were good overall, just a little fast.
408. Good lectures! Maybe utilize time better.
410. n/a
413. I really liked Prof. Schleter, He knew the material and taught it well
415. Some more detail on certain topics would have been helpful, for example, the right hand rule. I know several people who were completely lost on that topic.
417. they were good. Possibly dumb down some of the complicated stuff more though
418. Lectures were actually very helpful! I like the way things are done
419. it was very educational
420. None.
422. Bring back professor Bennett. I like Mrs.White but she isn't as effective a lecturer as Schleter or Bennett was.
424. Be more aware of time. We seemed to always be lagging behind.
425. The only thing is time management
426. Need less material per lecture or more focus during them. We always run short on time.
427. Spend more time on the problem solving.
428. More homework help in class or problems like the homework.
429. The lectures were ok, but I found myself confused many times.
430. Need to better use time as class ended with notes not complete.
432. Lectures were average to above average.
435. I thought they were good, productive, and efficient.
437. Good class
440. Very good overall, more watered down examples could help with the simpler homework problems.
442. Work through more homework problems
443. .
444. Example problems at then end of lecture should be given more time. Too many problems were rushed through.
445. Prof White didn't know the material as well and made it confusing to us
446. More examples that are similar to homework.
447. Didn't finish on time normally.
448. More time for lectures or not as much material in each so we can better grasp the concepts without having to rush
449. I like the demonstrations of concepts.
450. Make the classes later in the day. 11 would have been perfect. Also, you should post more opportunities for extra credit online. I also missed the opportunity to make up my first exam because I missed the lecture.

However, my biggest suggestion is if a student misses a lecture, it would be *amazing* if you could get at least partial credit for them by completing them online. Even a 3 out of 10 would be sufficient.
451. It seems like every time we skipped a question it was the hardest question on the hw, it would probably be better if you checked for the hardest hw problems and made sure you did those on lecture.
454. usually rushed at the end
455. This is the best structured class I've had so far. The notes in class along with the overlay on the slides are great. The youtube videos for test reviews are a MASSIVE help. I thank you for the time and effort you put into those.
456. Good pace, more examples like the homework problems would be nice.
457. I just wish the class time had been long enough for the material to be presented in. The notes that were not covered thoroughly made the homework really difficult. Such difficulty can make a student, such as myself, lose faith in passing the class. The class needs to be a little longer in my opinion.

General comments/suggestions on recitations:
328. Chris is da best.
330. None, the recitations were interesting.
331. I did not feel like these helped instill what we learn in lectures and in homework very much.
333. Daniel was awesome! Someone give that dude a raise!
334. He was the most helpful person in the class.
335. Recitation was helpful. I learned more in lecture, but recitation was good in that it broadened the material and helped me see how the equations are used.
336. n/a
337. None
338. The recitation was pretty good for walking you through problem solving
339. Opt for more review or so step by step sooner.
340. Recitation is fine, I enjoyed it very much so.
341. Daniel's example problems helped me so much on the homework
342. My TA is Chris. I believe it helped that he has experience in the classroom. Also his explanations are fairly useful. I DO enjoy the physical pictures and explanations he gives on the white board when we do not understand mouth to ear.
343. I enjoyed the group projects and Daniel was great in explaining the topics and giving help when needed
345. Solid job, just maybe less projects and more of a homework help would be nice. Also if you do projects, there should be more in class instruction and help.
347. Most of the time i would just sit there until the TA told us how to solve the problems. Sometimes the group could get it but usually it felt like we were totally lost.
348. Extra Credit
350. Helped a lot.
351. The questions on the sheet didn't help me understand the concepts
352. Chris knows his stuff.
353. I thought my TA did a very good job explaining how to do problems and didn't just do them himself but had us help him do them which helped on the homework a good bit.
354. Daniel is serious the best and I hope I can have him for EF 152.
355. I learned more in recitation than I did in lecture.
357. n/a
359. Always fun. Daniel was great.
361. Recitation was good, Daniel did a very good job of presenting the material.
362. Some recitations were beneficial while others id not relate to the material of the course and seemed to be a waste of time.
363. I really enjoyed recitation, but I think I would like it better if it was only once a week instead of twice.
364. Good job
366. They were helpful in strengthening the understanding of the material.
367. Chris is the man!!!
368. They are good, They could be a little better if they were based on helping with Homework.
370. pretty good.
371. None. Good recitations, fun.
374. Recitations were fantastic.
375. Chris is really smart and helpful.
376. Daniel is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He is always very helpful and genuinely nice to all students.
378. Everything was great and it really helped tie ideas from lecture together.
379. Good.
380. Recitations were very helpful/ Chris was a boss.
385. More homework help
386. Liked all the help the TAs gave me.
387. Chris did a great job helping us with whatever questions we had.
388. Having the hands on with different projects and such was definitely a plus.
390. I like how we are in groups, it helps when there are other people to understand and talk about things together
391. Recitations are very helpful for extra practice and getting questions answered in a more personal environment.
392. They went very well...where I learned most of the material
395. Love them, but they can be kind of long
396. Would like him to work through problems instead of just answering. he did sometimes, but sometimes not.
397. nothing they are well planned
398. n/a
399. Daniel was great
400. The recitations were good and defiantly helped, but they were sometimes ahead of lecture.
401. Recitations were challenging and fun. I would like more competitions between groups.
403. They always helped me grasp the concepts pretty well compared to lecture.
404. If Daniel could speak that would be great.
405. chris was cool
406. Seems like recitation was a huge jump from what was taught at lecture and then the homework was in between in terms of how hard it was.
407. More description of the material instead of examples.
408. Chris was an amazing TA, very helpful!
410. n/a
413. .
414. daniel was awesome
415. Make the recitation problems closer to the homework and exams.
417. They helped out a lot
418. He worked hard.
419. Recitation was very fun and had a lot of hands on activities
420. None.
422. Chris was a great TA. Very descriptive and helpful.
423. Recitations are rather lengthy which seems to be unnecessary.
424. We should work examples of actual homework in Lecture. Not the night that it's due, but the next day. So everyone who did not understand can still redeem themselves for the 75% credit the next day.
425. Very good overall
426. N/A
427. Chris wouldn't share his lunch.
428. My TA knew exactly how to break it down to where I could understand!
429. This helped me greatly.
430. recitations were excellent
432. Recitations did not help me with the material except for practice exams.
435. Daniel did a great job of explaining things that I didn't completely understand in lecture.
437. None
440. Only issue I had was I always got very unhelpful teammates.
442. Work a little more thorough.
443. .
444. Recitations helped explain everything well.
445. Chris was amazing !!
446. More work on example problems.
447. Very good and helpful TA.
448. More hands on activities they really help develop what you are using the equations for
449. Could be a little bit faster paced.
450. Daniel was amazing. There is literally nothing bad about his performance. 10/10
451. Nothing Daniel was awesome.
454. good information, helpful hands-on work in understanding concepts from each module
456. None, they really helped me grasp the concepts.
457. Sometimes the recitation did not seem to fit the same as what was discussed in lecture. Also, we had three lectures but two recitations. I think we should've had a recitation per class which covered exactly what was in class.
Overall Class
Additional comments/suggestions for improving EF 151:
328. SCHLETER AND BENNETT!
330. More involvement of prof. and TAs during class and recitation with the homework.
331. None
332. None, it all works well if you go to class.
333. I'm going into the computer engineering field and I am not required to take MATLAB. It would be nice if the use of MATLAB wasn't required for recitation. However, I believe the instructors realize this because the exposure to MATLAB was limited (a couple occasions) and there was only one recitation project that involved the use of MATLAB. Overall, very good job!
334. Spend an extra day of review in recitation.
335. The homework wasn't impossible, but near the end of the semester I didn't have time to finish the really hard problems.
336. n/a
337. None
338. Overall pretty good
339. Give the answer key to other old test for study options if possible also, not just the ones students have answered.
340. If possible smaller lectures where the professors can actually teach the material for a change instead of just going over it.
341. Not as hard homework, the tests were way easier and homework was just a terrible hassle and I always needed to go to tutoring or get a higher level engineering student to help me out. If the tutors can't figure the problem out, like happened a few times, it's probably too hard
342. I enjoyed the class EF 151. I did not think I would because of friends giving me their opinions. However, I have learned much more material than I ever retained in high school Physics.
345. Happy to see that its an actual engineer class, I took a class at another university and it was more of a weed out class than useful information.
347. I have enjoyed this class a lot, the work load was just enough and i learned as much as i could possibly fit in my brain.
348. Hardest Class I have ever taken
349. I enjoyed and can not wait for 152.
350. Maybe add more problems than just the Exams to youtube! Those helped me the most prepare for exams.
351. Make the questions on the homework more like what will be on the test.
352. More homework problem review at beginning of class.
353. Maybe make sure you finish every lecture and if not go back over them the next time if you don't finish it.
354. I would improve EF by limiting the two Monday homeworks and fully explaining each and every slide. Because it became noticeable that when it came to homework the few slides we didn't cover in lecture were on the homework making it slightly harder and a little more stressful.
355. A longer lecture period might be useful.
357. n/a
359. It's exactly what we asked for.
360. Less homework, but explain more.
361. The course seems very biased towards mechanical engineers. While I understand that a majority of the students might be intending to go into that field, it doesn't really make sense to have projects that are focused on that sort of thing specifically when many of us will not have to deal with situations of that type in our future employment. In short, I'm not really sure if the final project being a machine is necessarily the greatest or fairest thing.
362. The lectures were difficult to learn from. I would rather prepare for tests better.
363. Better homework help, and telling the student ahead of time that there are two homework assignments due on Monday nights.
364. N/A
367. The rube Goldberg lab was horrible! I'm sure it would have been more enjoyable with better partners. I had the hardest time meeting with mine.
368. I love the challenge this class brings, but I think recitation could help more with homework
369. none really
370. make it easier!
371. Only part I didn't like was the final project being at the end of semester.
373. Maybe go over lecture more during recitation
374. Homework is incredibly difficult to do alone. Make the homework relative to what will be on the exams.
375. The discussion board needs some sort of incentive for answering classmates' questions. Also, the hints are terrible on the homework.
376. The only problem I had with this class was that there was always a time crunch at the end of lecture to get the notes done, and they often were not able to cover every slide. This was easily remedied though; the notes were always posted online.
378. Everything was awesome and was well organized.
379. Make class shorter
380. Somehow slow down the pace a little...
384. Make Lecture time longer or Notes shorter because there were many times that we didn't make it through the material.
385. Keep it how it is
386. None
387. There isn't much the class helps about as much as it can.
389. The class should explain each kind of equation even if they are a little bit different. There should be equations and the most basic steps to solving the problem the fastest for each different question.
390. I really like there being two professors.
391. Not having the lectures feel rushed would help some, but overall a good course.
392. Finish material or not have as much material to cover
395. none
396. Class was overall great.
397. have better lectures
398. n/a
399. none
400. There needs to be more times explaining things in lectures.
401. I have attended a lecture at ETSU where you could either attend in person or watch a stream online. Considering that attendance is monitored by clicker use, and a clicker program is available on computers/mobile devices, I think this would be an effective way to help students that are sick or have some other reason keeping them at home to keep up with the lectures and stay involved in the class.
402. It was alright, but I was unable to do the homework without getting help from others for I did not understand the material. Maybe try to help with the homework a little more in the beginning. It was hard to apply things from lecture without knowing where to start.
403. I really enjoyed it.
404. Fire Chris... jk
406. Probably learned the most in this class then any other class at UT so far.
407. Grade on a curve.
408. Do more homework examples during lecture.
410. n/a
411. Make the homework workable with the skills that we have learned. If calculus I is a class that most people are taking at the same time as EF 151, don't expect us to know how to take an integral the second week of school.
413. In lecture, do more examples and spend less time on the concept and youtube videos.
415. Put some more thought into the exams. This semester they were significantly more difficult than in years past.
417. none
418. Tough but great class
419. Maybe purchasing some better engineering toys for recitation
420. Pretty good.
422. None
423. Less homework load.
424. Daniel is flipping awesome.
426. N/A
429. The class was good, but I did find myself with questions unanswered.
430. None
432. Change the grading style of the exams! The course is way too specific and nit picking for an entry level freshman class.
435. Have a way to make up clicker questions.
436. there were too many clicker questions, didn't have enough time to finish
437. None
442. Maybe give better hints.
443. .
444. Good class. The requirement of homework was a bit tedious, but understandable.
446. None
447. Finish the lectures on time.
448. Not much to improve other than material and hands on experience
449. Help sessions somewhere other than Reese.
450. I understand that the exams were comprehensive, but you should really warn the students before the first exam that if they do not study for at 3-4 hours, they will NOT get the grade they desire.
451. Nothing really.
454. use lecture time better, more efficiently. less clicker questions
455. Recitation was educational as well as entertaining. It was an easy way to collaborate with classmates and get together on other assignments outside of the team projects too.
456. None, challenging course.

328. Nothing. Better than blackboard so you got that going for ya.
330. Very easy to find everything needed for class, much better than blackboard!
331. None
332. Works very well.
334. Sometimes would not load properly on the ipad.
335. I used the old exams to study, so the exam information page was incredably helpful to me. For a few of the tests, I had to work the night before, so I would print off an old exam and work it during my break. I also liked having my homework online rather than a book. It made it possible to do anywhere and helped me pace myself with my other work.
336. n/a
337. None
338. It was relatively easy to find everything if I looked. Announcements should be utilized before.
339. easy to use. would be nice if engineer club meetings were posted.
340. Do not change it.
342. I love the "Announcements" page on the website. However, if I was unfortunate and did not have access to a computer on a daily basis,my homework grade would suffer and I would definitely not be able to participate in class discussions (via discussion help) and test scores and project announcements and rubrics.
345. Easy to understand, and find information. Maybe at the beginning it was hard to find posted lecture notes. Might want to make that clearer.
347. The website is very helpful. If it weren't for this website i would be totally lost in this class.
348. Fix log in times. I have to log in to do everything.
350. Really Organized.
351. Worked great
353. I think the website is set up better than any other homework and course website I have used thus far.
354. Slightly confusing at first and wish I had used the discussion board more often, but after a while the website became very maneuverable.
355. It is organized well and easy to navigate.
357. n/a
359. It's cool and helpful.
361. The design is a little on the simplistic side and the aesthetics are a bit dated, but it is certainly functional.
362. The website was very helpful.

379. Very easy to navigate
380. The website was pretty solid. It did not register two things I tried to load to it but it told me it did...that was annoying and probably a fluke, but I sorted it out with my TA.

455. Screw Blackboard!!!! You guys should be paid to create a website for every class at UT! Go figure, the engineers would have the best website...hah! The lack of online interaction and resources has been one my main frustrations with other classes *cough*chinese*cough!**

334. They were very helpful.
335. I used the old exams and answers before every exam, but I tried to work out the ones I had problems with on my own with the PDF version. If I still had problems, I would watch the videos to explain. They were helpful.

I am a hands on learner so just simply looking at a video did not assist me much throughout the semester. Except for on extremely difficult problems I did not use the videos.
343. They are a great help

350. Extremely helpful
351. Helped me on ones I couldn't figure out
353. I thought that the videos were kind of annoying because they were like 10 minutes each and i i really didn't feel like sitting there and watching all of them.
354. Love Professor Schleter's explanation's and it's application for exam reviews, probably could use some more on the lectures themselves.
355. It was an excellent resource for studying.

363. Best thing ever.
Life savers, the night before exams.

369. The were great tools when you are very rusty on a topic, some things I never unterstood until seeing the videos.

387. Very helpful
388. Very good and helpful addition.
390. THEY HELPED!!
391. The exam solution videos are nice for explaining how certain problems are solved that may be causing some trouble. I personally use the blank exam then just check answers and work using the exam with solutions.
392. Very helpful

General comments/suggestions on lecture videos:
328. Little noisy...but still helpful.
330. Good extra resource (would probably be very useful if I had missed a lecture), just didn't need them that often.
331. N/A
333. I wish sometimes I didn't have to skip ahead 5 minutes for the lecture to start, but that wasn't really a big problem at all. Overall, very well done!

336. n/a
337. None
338. I missed one recitation and tried to use the video to catch up. The video was way too long with a good portion of it being a video of the class shuffling in before the lecture started. Also the lag for the clicker questions was not helpful. edit out all but the actual lecture, otherwise the video is 90% useless noninformation.
339. only used it the one time for the snow day.
340. None
342. I attended every lecture this semester and got the complete notes each time so I did not find it beneficial to look at past lectures.
347. Again i did not have the time to look at them because of other class work on top of this one. But when i did they helped a lot...
350. N/A
351. I tried them a few times, they were semi helpful.
353. I didn't really ever use them that much because the lectures didn't really help with hw problems too much.
354. Obviously based upon my above response I didn't know much about the lecture videos.
355. It was nice on the occasion that we didn't finish all the slides in lecture.
357. n/a
358. The videos would have been good if the videos would load faster. I liked the split screen with the notes and the video itself.
359. helpful
361. Never missed a lecture, and never felt compelled to go back over anything from lecture videos.
362. I did not find them very helpful.
363. They are very similar to the lectures from this year.
It helps if you miss a day.
368. Didn't need them
369. They were extremely helpful
371. Watched almost all of them before lecture.
375. They seemed helpful but I didn't use them.
376. They seemed like they may be helpful, but I felt the lectures covered everything I needed to know.
378. Didn't know they existed
380. Went to all the lectures so I did not need the videos
385. Harder to understand material through video
387. Somewhat useful
388. Possibly just putting up videos that explain different topics in depth on their own (aside from old lecture videos).
390. When I need to review for test and wanted to hear the lecture again I would go and watch them.
391. Only used a time or two, did help with missed notes and unanswered questions.
392. Helpful if missed

401. I remember seeing one lecture available. I guess I missed that they were ALL available.
403. Never used them. But the annotated notes helped.
404. The slides were laggy and that mae it a bit hard to follow.
406. I went to class so there was no need.
407. Didn't watch them.
408. Never really needed.
410. n/a
411. I just found out how to get to them last week
413. They would have helped, but i never needed them
415. The lecture videos are based on LECTURES, meaning that if that day's lecture had problems, then the video had problems.
417. none
418. Also helpful.
420. None.
422. None
424. Same deal as the exam videos
425. The formatting could be better
427. I didnt really need them.
428. It was pretty much what I learned in lecture all over again
429. Used them when I was confused on homework.
430. Very useful
432. Lectures didn't help me with the material much unless I had a question on how the exams should be worked in order to get any credit.
435. I think it's easier to download a pdf of the notes already written out, but it helps if you can't grasp the material in the notes without instruction.

General comments/suggestions on the clickers:
330. The clicker grading system seems to effective in ensuring attendance.
331. Good to keep us involved.
334. Effective way to keep attendance.
335. Since my clicker was on a phone app, sometimes it took a couple seconds to load. I missed a couple questions because it didn't load in time.
336. n/a
337. None
338. The wifi could be a bit iffy in the lecture hall which was annoying when using smartphone to reach the rwpoll website.
339. needed more time. give about 45secs or so on most would be better.
340. I wish that they were cheaper.
341. Too many clicker questions just slowed down lecture and made it stressful to try and answer them all
342. I love the clicker approach.
It requires me to pay attention and participate in class.
Otherwise, I would possibly venture off into my imagination sometimes.
344. Really nice, and the interactivity of the class it great.
347. Im so happy that you guys gave us time after a few lectures to get the clickers because my other class did not which was bogus.
350. N/A
351. The questions were too hard
353. I think the clicker's are a good idea to get people to come to class.
354. Wish we had more time like always but I understand the need for the questions to be brief.
355. They helped me grasp some concepts.
357. n/a
359. fair
361. Good in general. It helped me feel like I knew the material without penalizing me when I didn't.
362. Clickers are a pain and rush questions.
363. Mine broke so I missed all the questions for a day.
Other than that, no problems.
368. Good, helps keep people paying attention
371. None.
375. Too expensive, but a good idea. Fun to use.
376. Clickers help keep me accountable for coming to class. Without a means of keeping attendance, I am much more likely to skip lecture.
378. Some of the questions were vague.
379. Dont make attendance necessary
380. Sometimes because of the fast pace of the class it seemed like there was not time for clicker questions. There would be limited time to answer them.
385. Great way to count attendance and fun competitions
387. I feel like the clickers should be a less part of your grade
388. Not as many clicker questions during lecture. takes up too much time.
390. Waste of money, didn't think the clicker questions helped, but understand that it is a good way to see who is attending lecture.
391. Clickers are a good way to record attedance and keep focused during class.
392. Easy grade

396. none
397. easy to use

400. I liked the clickers and the clicker questions. It was a good way to test my competence of the material.
403. Slowed down lecture too much.
404. N/A
406. Good if done twice, but sometimes over used and caused us not to finish some of the slides in lecture.
407. They are effectively used to get people to come to class.
408. Did not like. Not very fair to be graded on material that you haven't learned yet.
410. n/a
413. .
415. They are simply a way to determine who comes to class or not. They don't really do much in the way of learning, especially when the professors quickly run through the answers for them and don't elaborate.
417. none
420. So many clicker questions.
422. Clicker questions where great in helping to understand the material as we went along.
424. They were effective
428. Sort of a pain because it hurts you if you don't understand the material right away and have to have the right answer to get all the points even when you generally tried
429. I already had it for my Econ class, but Im not a big fan of clickers.
430. None
432. Overpriced and not by a little bit. Ineffective in class. Went to class everyday and still didn't get a semi-decent grade on the participation.
435. Like I mentioned earlier, I wish there was a way to make them up.
437. none
439. Phone version is awful. Just invest in the clicker.
443. .
444. clickers are an added nuisance
446. None
447. Good way to take attendance and keep class involved.
448. none
449. Sometimes it was hard to come up with an answer before time was up.
451. Nothing
454. too many questions for clickers
455. keep up the good work. I think they're effective in showing how many people in the class actually understand what's going on. If I didn't know a lot of the clicker questions, I knew I needed to study that section.
456. I liked them, they kept me awake.

How does the homework system compare to other systems you may have used?
328. Wonderful. I like the trys but I think we should get one free (no try penalty).
330. I think it is better than any other online system I have used (mastering chemistry/biology and Web Assign).
331. Better. I've used blackboard alot, and it just isn't set up well for me.
332. Works well compared to just pulling questions out of the book.
333. When I did the homework, I usually tried it on my own for extra credit and usually ran into problems. I greatly took advantage of the help sessions! They are great! PLEASE NEVER GET RID OF THEM!
334. It was better than most.
335. I like that the homework tells me immediately if I am correct. I also fused the discussions on homework I had problems with.
336. i like paper homework and turning something in
337. It is nicer than some other systems.
338. The systems worked rather well
339. several homework assignments, but okay. you learn by practice.
340. It is a lot more effective.
341. The system is way better than the other online homework sites
342. I've never had on-line homework until I got to UTK, so it was a struggle to always remember to get online. I definitely got great use out of my laptop.
However, I enjoy that everything was at my hands when I needed it. I did not have to wait for homework to be assigned. I could look back and look ahead as I pleased.
343. I liked the progressive decline of the homework grades, but it tended to make me want to start on it later than usual
344. It is really nice to get instant feedback and hints.
345. It is ok, in some ways, It seems to be fair mainly because the answers are only numbers not symbols.
347. I like the system, but THE HINTS WERE AWFUL, NO HELP AT ALL.
348. The try penalty sucks but I like the prorated system.
349. It is weird how it is on-line and written down.
350. It's more efficient than using a book.
351. Way harder than any system I have used before.
353. I think this one is set up very well and a lot better than any of the others I have used up to this point.
354. Definitely far more sophisticated and easier to understand, I love the fact that you find your grade out instantly and that you can go back and use the problems to study. The extra credit for the homework is also a huge bonus.
355. I really enjoyed it. The discussion boards were helpful.
357. I like the bonus and penalty dates, all other online homework does not have those.
358. The different tries are very useful as I make a lot of typos. I like the hints.
359. effective for the type of work we are doing
361. Favorably. It was nice to have the 110% credit and this almost certainly helped me to raise my overall grade.
362. It makes it extremely difficult to learn. I prefer systems that offer similar problems to show how to do a problem. There were also so many that it was difficult to seek help.
363. There is a lot more than I am used to, and the due dates tend to sneak up on you.
364. HW is to hard to understand simple concepts
365. I prefer the current method. It is nice to get extra credit for getting the homework done early.
366. It is more efficient, but more difficult.
367. I love this Homework system. Other classes online homework uses an outside system that has all sorts of flaws. I had no problem all semester.
368. I don't like the homework. It's too hard even compare to the test. The hints were terrible. You need to make the homework more like the lectures and tests.
369. Quite different from any other
370. I like the system better than others.
371. A lot better than mastering chem.
373. Works better than what I used for physics in high school.
374. The actual system was fine. Just really difficult.
375. Better than MasteringChemistry for sure.
376. This homework system is better than others I have used. Instead of having a bunch of different examples of easier problems, only a few harder problems were laid out in explicit detail. This is very useful in learning the material.
378. very well
379. It is systematically made and good!
380. It is a pretty good system. Probaly better than most of the others I have used.
382. I like that this homework system allows us to work it for extra credit, others don't do that.
384. It is very good because there is not a set number of tries and we can look at hints if needed.
385. The homework takes so much time ,but without it, the material would be much harder to understand
386. It was kind of like Aplia and WebAssign so it was familiar with online homework like this.
387. This is way better
388. Very well.
389. It is different.
390. It is completely online. I have never had a class with the homework like that.
391. I like this homework system the best above all online forms. Having a discussion board helps to answer any questions. and hints also help without just giving away the problem.
392. I prefer a system like web assign where you can watch examples and there are infinite guesses without points taken off but when the hw is due on web assign after that it is a zero
393. better than owl or webassign by far
395. the best
396. Best system i have worked with. Makes mastering chemistry look like the biggest POS.
397. it was very diferant
398. quite well
399. like it alot dont have to pay
400. I like this system a lot and it is great for group work.
401. Very cool/much better.
402. About the same. It's another online homework but with a discussion board and tougher.
403. Better than webassign
404. This system is a lot better. It's fast and efficient.
405. it was pretty good. the rounding system wasnt too problematic. i DIDNT enjoy the hints to look in the book
406. Doesn't at all. Only online homework for this semester.
407. It is better, since it concentrates on just the class.
408. Much better than other systems I have used!
410. It's more user friendly.
411. The 110% on the day before it is due is awesome!
412. much better as far as the answers required
413. It works well
414. harder
415. It was organized extremely well, but the difficulty of the questions is absurd sometimes. When the TA's begin to struggle, then there might be a problem.
416. much better than other systems!
417. seems about the same
418. Its a lot more time consuming
420. A lot more.
422. I liked it because it was free and the problems were more challenging then the tests unlike in some classes, so it helped to prepare us for what we were going to see on exams.
423. I liked the homework system a lot. ESPECIALLY the extra credit.
424. It's similar, I have only used one other. WebAssign for precal.
425. There was a LOT of homework
426. It is less formal and if we need help, we only have a couple of options of getting it.
427. the system was better. the HW was harder.
428. It is a lot more challenging I will admit
429. It is about the same as other online homeworks.
430. Webassign is easier to use
431. Very well organized and accurate compared to other systems. I like having the 10 point reward for completing HW early!
432. This way, I found, was much less effective than traditional homework. Wrestling with the online homework system for so long and then finding out just how little it counted in comparison to the damned exams was a little frustrating at times, especially at the end of the semester.
433. It sucks, if you can't get it your screwed. Unless you cheat and use someones elses notes in which case you dont learn anything.
434. havent used any others
435. I like it, but sometimes it gets difficult. When I don't know how to solve something on it, I get really frustrated which makes me lose all motivation of doing it.
436. system works good ,but the hw was very hard
437. hard
439. The predictability of due dates is phenomenal. Every Tues and Thurs, verses whenever the professor decides to put them up.
441. Seemed to be similar to other systems I have used.
442. Good, works well.
443. .
444. The homework helps teach well, but it can add a lot of stress and unneeded to work to the course.
445. Very difficult
446. Good, I really like the chance to get 110% and then it slowly going down as time goes by.
447. Much better.
448. It was very difficult but i liked the extra 110% we could get for doing it early
449. It works a lot better than others I have used
450. It is a lot more time consuming and comprehensive.
451. Much easier to use.
452. way better than anything else
453. better than most others
454. better than webassign, the hints are helpful
455. It's the best so far. I think some components(hahaa) could be improved, but it's easily the best I've seen at UT. I know it's a lot to ask, but a lot of the time I would get points taken off b/c I would enter an answer in the wrong box, or mix up numbers, and occasionally I would be notified when I entered the answer of my mistake(ie. wrong sign) but it's frustrating losing points for errors that wouldn't have happened if I were writing it on paper and submitting it. But I don't wanna do that either!! lol
456. I liked the homework system, much better than others I've used.
457. I liked how it instantly told you if it was correct and sometimes had hints on how to do the problem.

General comments/suggestions for improving the homework system:
328. See above.
330. More homework help during recitation would be really helpful (was not able to make help/review sessions because of my schedule).
331. None
333. Sometimes the hints are really vague. Additionally, the book was not required (I had it anyway) but I feel that text book examples rarely helped.
334. Sometimes there was too much to complete before the due date.
336. n/a
337. None
338. Since the text was not required hints that referred to book pages were unhelpful. if possible those hints should have screenshots of those referenced pages in the future for those without the book.
339. IDK
340. It is fine the way it is.
341. Not as difficult
342. n/a
Possibly taking up more than one homework every now and then would improve homework grades. People would be motivated to get it done earlier.
I enjoyed being rewarded with the 110% options for doing homework early (day of lecture).
However, it did make it harder for me to comprehend material because I tried to stay ahead.
344. The problems I actually needed hints on did not have any and others that did referred to the book which I did not buy since it was only recommended and not required.
345. Better hints (not like see example 3a, maybe refer to the lecture example), and the due dates for bonus and 100% should be moved back one day since that would line up with lecture and allow for more help time (help session are on Tuesdays and Thursdays).
347. Do not change the way it is cuz it works very effectively. JUST CHANGE THE HINTS BECAUSE THOSE THINGS DO NOT HELP ONE BIT, A TA COULD SCAN PAGES OF THE BOOK AND POST THEM SOMEWHERE, THAT WOULD BE NICE, thank you.
348. don't use webassign. this looks better.
350. Maybe some better hints. Some problems only had one at it was "Check example...in the book." Some didn't buy the book. So the hint didn't help. Other than that I was glad that their was even a hint system!
351. Use questions that are similar to the ones on the tests
352. Text Book example hints are no fun.
353. I don't think there is anything you can really do to improve it. I think it's fine the way it is.
354. Nothing really to improve, just make sure that you require the textbook so students can actually use the examples from the textbook. Not requiring saves us money however I think if you require it the ability to understand the homework would increase some.
355. Sometimes it was frustrating when there wasn't a hint and I didn't know how to start the problem.
359. Stop with the textbook hints when you told us we didnt need the text book.
360. The hints are very important since the problems are so complicated to do. Get rid of the "Look at the Textbook" hints, and replace them with more useful hints.
361. None.
362. The problems were long and time consuming and it was impossible if you got the first one wrong. I think there could be more improvement in helping the students learn the material as they do homework.
363. Needs to be a timer on every assignment telling you EXACTLY how many days, hours, minutes you have till it is due.
364. Start with easier problems to understand the concepts
365. Maybe allow the extra credit attempt to not effect the points the day after the extra credit was due. For example if I went from 110% to 100% with my attempts and then decided to come back to that problem the next day I would have 100% attempts instead of 90% attempts
368. Same as above
370. Spread them out more.
371. Hints could be a little more helpful, some people didn't have the book.
374. Have better hints for when you are close to the answer.
375. It was a great tool except for the terrible hints. ("see textbook" doesn't help)
376. None.
378. Everything was fine.
379. no suggestions
380. The homework system worked pretty well. I cannot think of any improvements necessary.
385. 2 homework's due on one day is rough
387. none
388. Some problems needed to be worded differently/better.
390. homework is usually not like the test
391. NA
392. Stated above
395. none
396. I would like to be able to work it originally for a grade, then be able to change the problems and work them over and over.
397. nothing
398. n/a
399. none
400. Better hints.
401. I wish it was easier to find a corresponding problem worked out in the book to help with homework problems. A text example is offered for some questions, but I'd like more.
402. Don't say the book is optional and then make the hints say to use the textbook.
403. none
404. N/A
405. NO BOOK HINTS
406. Maybe linking questions on the discussion board to the specific questions that are being asked about so the discussion board is not filled with redundant questions.
407. Less problems, since they are generally harder than ones we will receive.
408. No improvements! It was great.
410. n/a
413. The homework was hard but the TAs were helpful
415. Usually sections 1-5 aren't too bad, but after that the difficulty ramps up exponentially.
416. sometimes the hints are not very helpful.. especially ones in reference to the book
417. none
418. Not much you can do
419. more hints
420. Just a whole lot of work.
422. None
423. No improvements necessary.
424. MAKE IT EASIER. It should not take 4 hours to answer 3 problems. Either me and my friends are all retards or that homework is too much haha.
425. A little less
426. MasteringPhysics?
427. less of it.
428. Challenging questions are good but its really difficult to understand the concepts, the hints on the homework were most of the time awful.
429. It was o.k.
430. Prefer webassign
432. Switch to a traditional S/NS paper turn in type system ASAP. Perhaps turn HW in during recitation?
435. I don't have any suggestions.
436. don't make the wording of questions so hard
437. less questions, not have to write it
442. Love the homework, really helps boost grade.
443. .
444. i would make the homework worth less.
445. Less points off for trys
446. None
447. No problems with it.
448. none
449. More hints would be great! I find the text book examples pretty useful although it is still hard to figure out sometimes.
450. I still have homework problems in Module 4 I cannot complete.
451. Nothing
454. use less unnecessary information
455. keep up the good work.

422. Monitor it more often on the nights it is due for extra credit. I found that there were more questions being answered on the night for 100% and whenever I didn't know how to do a problem I had to put off the extra points because I couldnt get my question answered.
423. It was extremely hard to tell which problem was being discussed for viewing purposes.
424. Have someone look at it more often.

451. Nothing.
455. great system. I already suggested this to the team that's evaluating the students "struggling" with homework,(I skipped 4 or 5 homeworks b/c of a death in the family) but I think using google hangout or a similar program*(I'm not a big fan of google monopolizing the internet) while you guys are doing the discussion board, that would be more effective than someone trying to explain their question in text. You could workout problems and help people in real time and show hints on a board or with a program to write overlays on the screen. Cool huh?

396. THis is the largest area of concern for me when it comes to EF. The guys that work in this room are awesome, when u can finally get their attention. If I could change anything about the guys, I would ask them to me more proactive and constantly ask where you are and what you are stuck on. I would see people all the time who I know needed help and were stuck, but couldnt pry the tutor away from the convo he may have been having with some students that didnt apply to physics. I expect the Commons in the library to be social hour, but not ESTABROOK 122. I do realize the tutors are younger guys, but it would much more efficient if they controlled the room and made sure it didnt turn into a hangout. It wasnt a problem for me to interrupt them and pull them away, but some students dont have that personality.

Are there any other resources that you think might be useful as a formal part of this class?
330. None that I can think of
332. None.
333. Because I am a transfer student my schedule is a little "out of whack." Because of this I had certain lab hours in ECE 255 in which the lab was only open during lecture times. On occasion, I would have to skip lecture so I could work on my lab. I realize my case is an individual basis, but I always watched the lecture online the same day before recitation, and filled out my own lecture handout. It would be nice if I could get some kind of make up credit because even though I couldn't attend the lecture, I did watch the lecture as soon as possible.

353. I don't think that you really need anything like a textbook if you pay attention in lecture and recitation and actually understand it. If you understand the concepts behind problems you will do well on tests, rather than just knowing how to do problems.
